H.E.A.T vs. Power Skating

What makes H.E.A.T. unique?

HEAT instructors are HOCKEY PLAYERS who can TEACH. The system is dynamic and challenging and relies on our ability to engage the player, simplify the skill using cue words. This system is FUN so the player remains focused. Players learn to self coach so that HEAT skills become mastered ANY time they are training.

Players often get bored in typical “power skating” sessions, but not while participating in H.E.A.T. Energy-inducing music is usually played during sessions, and instructors add to the energy with abundant positive and encouraging feedback. Athletes are taught from the first moments to “leave their comfort zone." They are shown that falling or failing during a drill is a sign of pushing their limits. Athletes quickly unite and through H.E.A.T.'s approach you will hear the group cheering for others as they attempt new drills in front of the crowd!

H.E.A.T.'s use of dryland training is far more advanced than other hockey camps, and is not used as a way to "kill time" or babysit players in between on-ice sessions. As well, a high coach to player ratio ensures that every participant gets full attention, and therefore maximum value.
